Loki is the son of Fárbauti his father, a Jotun and Laufey his mother, an Aesir. He lives in Asgard with the Gods for many years. He is skilled in political maneuvering and lies. He does mean and evil things to people, the Gods, and others then talks his way out of punishment. His wife in Asgard is Sigyn, who cares for him. Throughout his time in Asgard, Odin is always trying to teach Loki, and doesn't understand why he does the things he does.

Features to include when drawing:

  • Black hair
  • Black eyes
  • No facial hair
  • Very pale Caucasian skin tone
  • Lean and muscular
  • Black staff
  • Evil/dark colors
  • He represents mischief, lies, jealousy
  • He has evil (Gullveig) in his heart
  • Colors: Black, Gold/yellow, dark green - Splash color = Dark Green

Depict him with an arrogant, crafty look. Armored as if only for show – not for use; Loki does not fight. Give him a dark/evil look, with a headdress or helmet with turned down goat type horns, or no helmet.

Loki represents and personifies, and is the source of influence as it relates to the pursuit of Gullveig, being the obsession and pursuit of anything other than Odur and one's soul mate. This other obsession can be anything, but is most commonly understood and depicted as the unbridled obsession and pursuit of wealth.

He is the father to Hela (ruler of Hel), the wolf Fenrir, and the Midgard serpent Jormungandr. He leaves Asgard due to his jealousy, and then hates them.  He leads the army opposing Asgard on the fields at Ragnorok.
