Here you will see samples and examples of the fantastic artwork used in our book series and publications.

In our endeavors to illustrate our stories, we had to decide upon standards for the Ancestors, Jotuns, Dwarves, Heroes and Villains. Through arduous digging and searching through the many texts available, from the Eddas through the never-ending sea of "everyone's opinion", what you will find here is our depiction of these awesome beings. Enjoy!

Dark Elves - The dark elves are synonymous with dwarves, and are utilized in many Norse stories and myths to manufacture items for the Norse Gods. They are from Svartalfheim. Illustration by Nicolas R. Giacondino, copyright Norhalla.com.

Fenrir - In Mythology, Fenrir is depicted as literally a giant Wolf. He has black or red eyes to reflect his dark soul and that he is in league with Loki. Illustration by Nicolas R. Giacondino, copyright Norhalla.com.

Freyja is Njord's daughter, and sister to Freyr. She is originally from Vanaheim, and lives in Asgard after the Aesir-Vanir War. She is Head of the Valkyrie and High Priestess. Freyr - Freyr is the son of Njord and brother to Freyja. He was born in Vanaheim, ruler of Alfheim, and lives in Asgard. Freyr falls in love with the beautiful Gerda and gives up his sword to marry her. Illustration by Nicolas R. Giacondino, copyright Norhalla.com.

Idunna is wife to Bragi and lives in Asgard. She tends the apple trees and gardens in Asgard. Norhalla.com

Jotuns - In Norse legend, Jotuns originate from Ymir, the frost giant. After Ymir's sons kill Odin's fore-father Bur, Odin and his brothers kill Ymir and all of his people. Loki - Loki is the son of Fárbauti his father, a Jotun and Laufey his mother, an Aesir. He lives in Asgard with the Gods for many years. He is skilled in political maneuvering and lies.
