Yggdrasil is the great Ash tree which the wells of knowledge feed: Well of Urd, "Urðarbrunnr", Mimir's Well, "Mímisbrunnr" and the bubbling boiling spring of life, "Hvergelmir".  Odin learned the runes under the tree, and a great many animals live in the tree.

Features to include when drawing:

  • Very large, larger than life
  • Ash tree
  • Many Animals (listed below)

Creatures live within Yggdrasil, including the dragon Níðhöggr, who chews at the roots, an unnamed eagle at the top, Vedfolnir a hawk who stands on the eagle's beak between his eyes, and the stags Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór that drink the dew.  Ratatosk is the squirrel that runs from the bottom of the tree to the top chattering gossip between Nidhogg and the Eagle.
